As a graduation requirement through our high school, juniors and seniors spend about five weeks in a real-world job environment. My passion that I want to pursue through college is architecture. Although I was able to intern with an amazing architecture firm, it was only for four hours a week. I noticed a pattern after searching high and low for another architecture firm to intern with; they already had a college intern. Finding an architecture firm to intern with at this age is extremely difficult because you have absolutely no experience working in that job field. In the end, I was still able to find an internship working with disabled and special needs k-12 students at Whittier School. Although this wasn't another architecture firm, I sure had a great experience getting to work with students and staff.
