This was a math project where we were each assigned a different small square from this painting. Our task was to dilate the square to become 4x4 inches. Once we applied the correct math in order dilate it, we worked with people who had pieces around ours, in order to align them together. When we finished dilating the piece and sketched it out in pencil, we then painted our 4x4 square using watercolors.
From doing his project, I was able to apply the information that was taught in class. We learned how to properly dilate line segments and slowly worked our way up to create this intricate piece. I enjoyed making this project because it involved both art and math, which are my two favorite subjects. If I were to redo this project, I think that I would definitely have color matched the background colors to those around me, because it looked a little odd placing the paintings with different background colors together.
